Your dashboard
Your dashboard
Your dashboard provides a real-time snapshot of your expense activity and key metrics at a glance.
Dashboard overview
The dashboard is your home base in Eloope—the first screen you see when you log into the platform. It's designed to give you immediate visibility into your expense activity, pending tasks, and key metrics without requiring you to navigate through multiple pages. Everything you need to manage your expenses efficiently is accessible from this central hub, whether you're an employee tracking personal expenses or a manager overseeing team spending.
Your dashboard updates in real-time as expenses are created, reports are submitted, and approvals are processed. This means you always see the most current information about your expense activity. The layout adapts based on your role, showing only the metrics and features relevant to your permissions and responsibilities.

Key metrics
Four metric cards at the top of your dashboard display your most important numbers, providing instant insight into your expense status at a glance.
Total Expenses. This card shows the sum of all your expenses for the currently selected time period, which defaults to the current month. The large number displays your total spending, with a smaller indicator showing the percentage change compared to the previous period. Click anywhere on this card to open your complete expense list filtered to the selected timeframe, where you can view details, edit draft expenses, or create new ones.
Reports Submitted. This metric displays the number of expense reports you've submitted during the selected period. Below the main number, you'll see a breakdown showing how many reports are pending approval, how many have been approved, and how many are awaiting payment. This gives you a quick overview of where your reports are in the approval pipeline. Click the card to view your full report list with detailed status information for each report.

Pending Approvals. If you're a manager or finance team member, this card shows how many reports are currently waiting for your approval. The main number indicates the count of pending reports, while the secondary figure shows the total dollar amount requiring your review. This card appears prominently to ensure you stay on top of approval responsibilities. Click it to open your approval queue where you can review and process reports immediately.
Draft Expenses. This card tracks expenses you've created but haven't yet added to a report. The main number shows how many draft expenses you have, while the amount displays the total unreported spending. These are expenses waiting to be organized into a report and submitted for reimbursement. Click the card to view all draft expenses and quickly create a report to submit them.
Recent activity
The recent activity timeline provides a chronological feed of all expense-related events across your account. This section displays the latest actions such as expense submissions, report approvals or rejections, reimbursement payments, and important notifications. Each activity item shows a timestamp, a brief description, and relevant details like amounts or status changes.
You can click on any item in the activity feed to view complete details or open the related expense or report. For example, clicking on "Report #2847 approved by Sarah Johnson" will open that specific report so you can see which expenses were approved and when payment processing will begin. The activity feed helps you stay informed about everything happening with your expenses without needing to check multiple pages.

Charts and analytics
Visual charts on your dashboard help you understand spending patterns and identify trends over time.
Spending trend. The spending trend chart displays your expenses broken down day-by-day or week-by-week, depending on your selected time range. You can control the time range using the dropdown selector, choosing from options like the last 7 days, last 30 days, last 3 months, or the full year. For managers, a toggle switch allows you to alternate between viewing your personal expenses and viewing aggregated team spending. The line graph makes it easy to spot peaks in spending and understand how your expense patterns change over time.
Category breakdown. This visualization shows the percentage and dollar amount you've spent in each expense category during the selected period. Categories like Meals, Travel, Accommodation, and Transportation are color-coded for easy identification. The chart displays your top spending categories, helping you understand where your money is going. This breakdown is particularly useful for staying within category-specific budgets or identifying areas where spending might need adjustment.

Quick actions sidebar
A dedicated quick actions panel on the right side of your dashboard provides one-click access to your most common tasks, streamlining your workflow significantly.
Primary actions. The quick action buttons include "New Expense" to create an expense immediately, "New Report" to start compiling expenses into a report, "View All Expenses" to see your complete expense history, and "Request Cash Advance" to submit a request for pre-trip funding. These shortcuts save you from navigating through multiple menu options to perform routine tasks.
Notifications widget. This compact widget displays your last 5 notifications with an unread count badge showing how many you haven't reviewed yet. Notifications alert you to important events like report approvals, rejection feedback, or reminders about pending tasks. Click any notification to read the full message or mark it as read without leaving the dashboard.

Split expenses widget. If you have any split expenses with colleagues, this widget displays a summary of amounts owed to you by others and amounts you owe to team members. The net balance is prominently displayed, along with a quick view of each split expense's settlement status. This helps you track shared expenses and ensure everyone settles their portions promptly.
Advances widget. If you have any active cash advances, this widget shows each advance with details about how much you've used versus how much remains available. It also displays settlement deadlines so you know when you need to reconcile your advance with actual expenses incurred. This visibility helps you manage pre-trip funding effectively and avoid issues with overdue settlements.
Customization
You can customize your dashboard view to focus on the data most relevant to your needs.
Time range selector. Use the time range dropdown in the top-right corner to adjust which period your dashboard metrics display. Quick options include Today, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month, Last Month, This Quarter, and This Year. You can also select "Custom Range" to specify exact start and end dates for more precise reporting needs. Changing the time range updates all metrics, charts, and activity feeds simultaneously.
View toggle for managers. If you have manager permissions, a prominent toggle switch allows you to switch between "Personal View" and "Team View." Personal View shows only your own expenses and reports, just like an employee would see. Team View displays aggregated team metrics, pending approvals, team spending trends, and policy violation alerts for your direct reports. This toggle makes it easy to switch context between managing your own expenses and overseeing team activity.

Dashboard by role
Your dashboard adapts based on your role, ensuring you see only relevant information for your responsibilities.
Employee dashboard. Employees see their personal expenses and reports, reimbursement status for submitted reports, a reminder widget for draft expenses that need to be reported, and personal spending trends to track their own expense patterns. The focus is entirely on managing individual expense activity and tracking reimbursement progress.
Manager dashboard. Managers see everything employees see, plus additional features including a Pending Approvals card showing reports awaiting their review, a Team View toggle to switch between personal and team perspectives, team spending trends and analytics, and policy violation alerts for their direct reports. The manager dashboard balances personal expense management with oversight responsibilities.
Finance dashboard. Finance team members see organization-wide metrics spanning all departments and employees, pending reimbursements that need processing, cash advances requiring settlement or reconciliation, and a comprehensive policy violation summary across the organization. Their dashboard provides a high-level view of the entire company's expense activity.
Admin dashboard. Administrators see system health status indicators, user activity metrics showing login patterns and usage, integration status for connected accounting or HR systems, and automation logs detailing which rules have triggered and what actions were taken. The admin dashboard focuses on system management rather than expense processing.
Daily workflow
Establishing a consistent dashboard routine helps you stay on top of expense management with minimal time investment.
Morning check. Spend just two minutes each morning reviewing your notifications to catch any urgent items, checking pending approvals if you're a manager, reviewing draft expenses that need to be added to reports, and scanning recent activity for any unexpected changes or updates. This quick morning review ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
Weekly review. Once per week, spend about five minutes examining your spending trend chart to understand patterns, checking the category breakdown to see where your money is going, submitting any draft expenses that have accumulated during the week, and reviewing reimbursement status for submitted reports to know when payments are expected. This weekly routine keeps your expenses organized and prevents backlogs from building up.
