Manage supported currencies, exchange rates, and custom rates for your organization in Eloope.
Access currency settings
- Go to Admin Settings > Currencies.
Eloope supports over 150 currencies, from major currencies like USD, EUR, and GBP to regional currencies used around the world.

Set your default currency
Your organization's default (home) currency is the base currency used for all report totals, reimbursements, and financial summaries.
- Go to Admin Settings > Currencies.
- Select a currency from the Default Currency dropdown.
- Click Save.
When employees submit expenses in a foreign currency, Eloope automatically converts the amount to your default currency using the applicable exchange rate.
Note: You can also set the default currency from the Organization settings page.
Live vs. custom exchange rates
Eloope supports two exchange rate modes, controlled by a toggle on the Currencies page:
Live Exchange Rates (default): Eloope fetches market exchange rates automatically and updates them daily. No configuration required. When live rates are enabled, the Add Custom Rate button is available but the Reconvert Expenses button is disabled since rates stay current.
Custom Exchange Rates: Toggle off live rates to use manually defined exchange rates. This is useful when you need to match internal company rates or credit card provider rates.

Set custom exchange rates
When live rates are disabled, you can create custom rates:
- Go to Admin Settings > Currencies.
- Click Add Custom Rate.
- Select the From currency and the To currency with their amounts.
- Click Save.
Custom rates appear in a table with columns for Currency, From amount, To amount, and Created date. You can edit, delete, or bulk delete custom rates.

Reconvert expenses
If you change your default currency or switch between live and custom rates, use the Reconvert Expenses feature to update existing records:
- Go to Admin Settings > Currencies.
- Click Reconvert Expenses.
- A preview shows how many expenses and advances need reconversion and how many open reports are affected.
- Confirm to proceed.
- Review the results showing successful conversions by type (Expenses/Advances) and any failed currencies.
Note: Reconvert is only available when live exchange rates are disabled.
Exchange rate table
The Currencies page displays all exchange rates in a sortable table. You can select rates for bulk deletion and export rate data as CSV.

Bulk delete custom rates
To remove multiple custom exchange rates at once:
- Go to Admin Settings > Currencies.
- Navigate to the custom rates section.
- Select the checkboxes next to the rates you want to remove.
- Click Delete in the bulk actions bar.
- Confirm the deletion.
After deleting a custom rate, Eloope reverts to automatic live rates for that currency pair.
Warning: Deleting custom rates affects all future conversions for the selected currency pairs. Review your selections carefully before confirming.
