Currencies

Manage supported currencies, exchange rates, and custom rates for your organization in Eloope.

Access currency settings

  1. Go to Admin Settings > Currencies.

Eloope supports over 150 currencies, from major currencies like USD, EUR, and GBP to regional currencies used around the world.

Set your default currency

Your organization's default (home) currency is the base currency used for all report totals, reimbursements, and financial summaries.

  1. Go to Admin Settings > Currencies.
  2. Select a currency from the Default Currency dropdown.
  3. Click Save.

When employees submit expenses in a foreign currency, Eloope automatically converts the amount to your default currency using the applicable exchange rate.

Note: You can also set the default currency from the Organization settings page.

Automatic exchange rates

Eloope fetches live exchange rates and updates them regularly. These rates are used whenever an expense is recorded in a currency different from your organization's default.

Automatic rates require no configuration. They are applied by default to all multi-currency conversions.

Set custom exchange rates

In some cases you may need to override automatic rates: for example, to match your company's internal rates or credit card provider rates.

  1. Go to Admin Settings > Currencies.
  2. Click Add Custom Rate.
  3. Select the From currency and the To currency.
  4. Enter your custom exchange rate.
  5. Click Save.

Custom rates take priority over automatic rates for the specified currency pair.

Note: Custom rates apply to new conversions only. Previously converted expenses are not recalculated.

View exchange rate history

  1. Go to Admin Settings > Currencies.
  2. Click Rate History to view a log of past exchange rates.
  3. Filter by currency pair or date range to find specific rates.

Exchange rate history helps you audit how amounts were converted and when rates changed.

Bulk delete custom rates

To remove multiple custom exchange rates at once:

  1. Go to Admin Settings > Currencies.
  2. Navigate to the custom rates section.
  3. Select the checkboxes next to the rates you want to remove.
  4. Click Delete in the bulk actions bar.
  5. Confirm the deletion.

After deleting a custom rate, Eloope reverts to automatic live rates for that currency pair.

Warning: Deleting custom rates affects all future conversions for the selected currency pairs. Review your selections carefully before confirming.
