Connect Eloope to Slack to receive real-time expense notifications, approval alerts, and automated messages directly in your Slack workspace.
What the Slack integration does
The Slack integration keeps your team informed without leaving Slack. Once connected, Eloope can:
- Send notifications when expense reports are submitted, approved, rejected, or reimbursed.
- Alert approvers when a report is waiting for their review.
- Deliver automated messages from workflows you build in the automation editor.
- Post updates to specific Slack channels or send direct messages to individual users.

Connect Slack
- Go to Admin Settings in the left sidebar.
- Click Integrations.
- Find Slack in the list and click Connect.
- A Slack authorization window opens. Sign in to your Slack workspace if prompted.
- Review the permissions Eloope is requesting and click Allow.
- You are redirected back to Eloope. The Slack integration now shows as Connected.

Note: You need to be a Slack workspace admin (or have permission to install apps) to authorize the connection.
Notification types
Once connected, Eloope sends the following notifications to Slack:
| Event | Notification |
|---|---|
| Report submitted | Notifies the assigned approver that a new report is ready for review. |
| Report approved | Notifies the submitter that their report was approved. |
| Report rejected | Notifies the submitter with the rejection reason. |
| Reimbursement processed | Notifies the submitter that payment has been issued. |
Use Slack in automations
You can add Slack messages as actions in any automation workflow.
- Open Automation in the left sidebar.
- Create a new workflow or edit an existing one.
- Add an action node and select Send Slack Message.
- Choose the destination: a Slack channel or a direct message to a specific user.
- Write the message content. You can use dynamic variables like employee name, amount, and report title.
- Save and activate the workflow.

Note: The Slack integration must be connected before you can use the Send Slack Message action in automations.
Disconnect Slack
- Go to Admin Settings > Integrations.
- Find Slack and click Disconnect.
- Confirm the disconnection.
Disconnecting removes Eloope's access to your Slack workspace. Notifications and automation messages will stop immediately. You can reconnect at any time by following the connection steps above.
