Multi-factor authentication adds a second layer of security beyond your password. Even if someone obtains your password, they cannot access your account without the second factor.
How MFA works in Eloope
Eloope supports TOTP-based multi-factor authentication (Time-based One-Time Password). This works with any standard authenticator app, including:
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- 1Password
- Microsoft Authenticator
When MFA is enabled, you enter your password as usual, then provide a 6-digit code generated by your authenticator app. The code refreshes every 30 seconds.
Enable MFA
- Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner and go to Profile Settings.
- Select the Security tab.
- Click Enable MFA.
- Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed on screen.
- Enter the 6-digit verification code from your authenticator app.
- Click Verify.

Save your recovery codes
After enabling MFA, Eloope generates a set of one-time recovery codes. These codes let you sign in if you lose access to your authenticator app.
- Copy or download the recovery codes immediately.
- Store them in a secure location separate from your authenticator device.
- Each recovery code can only be used once.
Warning: If you lose both your authenticator app and your recovery codes, you will not be able to sign in on your own. Contact your organization's administrator to reset your MFA.
Sign in with MFA
- Enter your email and password on the login page.
- When prompted, open your authenticator app.
- Enter the current 6-digit code.
- Click Verify to complete sign-in.
If you do not have access to your authenticator, click Use a recovery code and enter one of your saved recovery codes instead.

Disable MFA
- Go to Profile Settings > Security.
- Click Disable MFA.
- Enter a 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm.
- Click Confirm.
MFA is removed from your account immediately. You can re-enable it at any time by following the setup steps above.
Note: Some organizations require MFA for all users. If your administrator has enforced MFA, you will not see the option to disable it.
