Stay informed about expense approvals, report updates, and reimbursement status. Eloope sends notifications through multiple channels so you never miss an important update.
Notification channels
Eloope delivers notifications through three channels:
- In-app notifications: Appear inside Eloope when you are logged in.
- Email notifications: Sent to your registered email address.
- Push notifications: Browser-based alerts that appear even when Eloope is not in the foreground.
Notification center
Click the bell icon in the left sidebar to open the notification center. All your notifications appear here in reverse chronological order.

From the notification center you can:
- Mark as read: Click a notification to mark it as read, or use Mark all as read at the top.
- Archive: Move a notification out of your main list without deleting it.
- Delete: Permanently remove a notification.
Unread notifications display a badge count on the bell icon so you can see at a glance if something needs your attention.
What triggers notifications
Eloope sends notifications for key events throughout the expense lifecycle:
- Report submitted for approval
- Report approved
- Report rejected
- Expense reimbursed
- Cash advance approved, rejected, or disbursed
- Trip request approved or rejected
- Policy violation flagged
- Approval delegation changes
- New items in your approval queue
Customize your preferences
- Click Notifications in the left sidebar.
- Select Settings at the top of the page.
- Toggle each notification type on or off for each channel.

For example, you might want email notifications for report approvals but only in-app notifications for advance status changes. Configure each event type independently across all three channels.
Enable push notifications
When you first log in, Eloope asks for permission to send browser push notifications. If you dismissed the prompt, you can enable push notifications later:
- Go to Settings in the left sidebar.
- Select Notifications.
- Click Enable Push Notifications and accept the browser permission prompt.
Note: Push notifications require a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari). Make sure notifications are not blocked at the browser or operating system level.
Notification sound
Eloope can play a short sound when you receive an in-app notification. This is off by default.
- Go to Notifications > Settings.
- Toggle Notification Sound on or off.
The sound only applies to in-app alerts. Email and push notifications use your device's default behavior.
Admin: customize notification templates
Organization admins can customize the content of notification emails sent to employees.
- Go to Admin Settings in the left sidebar.
- Select Notification Templates.
- Choose the template you want to edit (e.g., Report Approved, Expense Rejected).
- Modify the subject line and body text. Use variables like
{{employee_name}},{{report_title}}, and{{amount}}to insert dynamic content. - Click Save Template.
Warning: Changes to notification templates apply to all users in your organization. Preview the template before saving to make sure it reads correctly.
